Finance Administrator

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week, worked flexibly between Mon-Friday 9am-5pm

Contract: Fixed term maternity cover

Salary: £10.50 per hour

Location: Nottingham, NG8 4GP

 

The Role:

Our client, a proud small independent printer company based in the heart of Nottingham is currently looking for an AAT qualified Finance Administrator who will manage day to day bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and support the directors for HR and ISO admin. The role is fixed term to cover a period of maternity leave.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and update the accounting package (Xero) for daily transactions

  • Reconciliation of the bank accounts in Xero

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable – including speaking to customers/suppliers

  • Review and process reimbursements

  • Keep records of invoices in a neat filing system, ensuring compliant with tax requirements

  • Support with preparing VAT quarterly returns to be reviewed by external accountants

  • Manage company’s overhead costs and liabilities (e.g. insurance premium)

  • Identify and address account discrepancies

  • Participate in payroll processes in liaison with external accountants

  • Report on financial projections (e.g. liquidity and cash flow)

  • Management of HR records and general admin

  • Support the Directors in other administrative functions

  • Maintain stock levels, and ordering of office stationery and other consumables

  • Ensure that all duties are carried out in line with the company's QHSSE policies and procedures. 

 

Essential requirements:

  • AAT qualification

  • Excel and word skills. 

 

Desirable requirements:

  • Understanding of xero accounting package

  • Ideally worked for small/medium sized businesses in a finance or administrative role

  • Ability to talk to customer and suppliers to build good relationships

  • Keen to understand how the business works and support the ongoing growth in the business

  • Look for process improvements where possible on administrative and finance tasks.
